The 21st century has been called by more than one analyst the era of Global terrorism. This study falls under this category: insurgencies have become the new form of communication often used by a certain group of people to express their claims to the government. The "Group of the People of Sunnah for Preaching and Jihad" or as commonly called Boko Haram has on the same mode invaded Lake Chad Basin. They have claims, except for religious ones, others have not been well defined. Cameroon falls under the Lake Chad Basin Region and therefore has been affected by the phenomenon which started in Nigeria, the original countries of the members of the Islamic sect. This study aims therefore at depicting the details of this cross border insurgency through analysis of their various attacks in the Far North of Cameroon the main case study in this research. It is also an examination of the government of Cameroon response towards the terrorists. The study proved that the military could be effective in the resolution of insecurity and violent situations, but in the meantime it was also revealed that insurgencies are growing in Africa and in the world in general because of the numerous social injustices from governments towards people or certain states towards others; a beginning of solutions to the various terrorists attacks would therefore be to prevent such situations by promoting the respect of human rights, giving access to education and work to individuals and allowing people to get opportunities of achieving their dreams and therefore preserve their sense of nationalism and peacekeeping. It is under the same view that Leon KOUNGOU kept repeating: "the army is a hammer but all its troubles are not nails".
