Iran and Israel have maintained a very strong confrontation for a long time among all countries in the Middle East.Before the Iranian Islamic Revolution in 1979,the two countries have established informal relationship of cooperation and formed an alliance to some extent such as security under the premise of mutual recognition of their common interests.However,after the Iranian Revolution,Iran has opened a brand new era conducted by Islamic ideology.In this situation,both sides have reassessed their respective national interests,which led to the gradual deterioration of the relationship between the two countries.After the Middle East Upheaval occurred in 2011,which started from the Arab Spring and the further development of the Iranian Nuclear Issue,Iran and Israel have come to a new height of hostile.Therefore,on the basis of combing the relationship between the two countries comprehensively,this paper aims to elaborate the current situation of Iranian-Israeli relations since the Middle East Upheaval,and explores the internal causes of Iranian regime threat to Israel and Israeli hostile to Iran in the era of Iranian Nuclear Issue and Post-Iranian Nuclear Agreement.What's more,it is also important to analyze the internal and external factors which can influence the relations between the two countries.The first part of this paper introduces the historical evolution of the relationship between Iran and Israel on the historical perspective.Before the Iranian Islamic revolution,the two countries established a short-term cooperation based on their own interests,mainly on oil and arms trade.The second part elaborates the development of Iran-Israel relationship under the influence of Middle East Upheaval.The Arab Spring triggered a new round of changes in the Middle East,which is the original balance of the development pattern was broken,and the area gets into a new chaos.The Middle East Upheaval has had an impact on both countries.Iran's ambitions that to seek great powers after the upheaval are further enhanced,while Israel is concerned about the uncertainty outcome of the Arab democratic revolution and the vigilance against Iran's rise.The third part describes the Iran-Israel relations after signing the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian Nuclear Issue.On July 14,2015,Iran reached agreement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.Iran caches a new opportunity for its own development with a temporary compromise with the international community.Israel is strongly opposed to this assignment and believes it has brought serious challenges to the security and survival of Israel,and has demonstrated its own opposition by continuing to exert pressure on the United States and the international community.The fourth part analyzes the factors that influence Iran-Israel relations,including the interests of the United States in the Middle East,the peace process in the Middle East,and the foreign policy chosen by Iran and Israel on the basis of their respective national interests.Finally,the paper analyzes on the feasibility of improving the relationship between Iran and Israel in the future.Although Israel believes that Iran is a powerful opponent and a potential threat,given the history of the two countries,the future situation of Iran-Israel relations will possibly make some change under the changing environment and policy options,which may provide a catalyst for the development of the Middle East peace process.
