The Study On The Relationship Between Iran And Russia Under The Background Of Iranian Nuclear Problem

Since1950s, Iran had started series activities of the research and development of nuclear energy, which caught great attention of international community. The nuclear problem of Iran has now become one of the diplomatic stages for great powers, including America, Russia, EU and China. The attitude on Iranian nuclear problem of each interest group is different in different period. The emphasis of this article is the relationship between Iran and Russia under the background of Iranian nuclear problem.This article is consisted of three chapters. The first chapter mainly describes the origin, process and status quo of the development of Iranian nuclear program, and then expounds the great influence of Iran on economy, politics, military and religion as regional power, dissects the reasons why interest groups have paid close attention to Iranian nuclear program, and outlines that the essence of Iranian nuclear program in fact is the interest confrontation between Iranian government and American government that it is a strategic game of both sides. The second chapter dissects the reasons why Russian and America had totally different attitude on Iranian nuclear issue is primarily based on strategic and interest considerations of Russia, including security interests, economic interests and Russia’s seeking the position of great power and "Back to Middle East". The key point here is that Russia is always playing a leading role in the bilateral relationship with Iran that when Iran faced the reality of the pressure of America, a strategic partner and friend is badly in need while in contract, Russia has no urgent strategic demand. The third chapter mainly describes the relationship between Russia and Iran that both cooperation and conflict are existed in the bilateral relationship. This chapter integrates the cooperation process of Russian and Iran after World War Ⅱ, of course, it is impossible that there are no interest conflicts in the cooperation between two countries. Thus, the article dissects the conflicts between Iran and Russian while describing the process of development.From the development of relation between Iran and Russia, it can be clearly seen that the support and aid from Russia led to several failures of sanctions on Iran form America and western countries. We do not mean that America and western countries come back with empty hands, the essence it reflects is the interests conflict between Iran and Russia in some degree. In this sense, variants do exist in Iranian nuclear issue. Thus the relationship between Iran and Russia under the background of Iranian nuclear issue becomes an issue worthy to be discussed.
