An Analysis Of The International Sanctions In The Iranian Nuclear Issue

Iran’s nuclear issue is one of the world’s major hot issues, and its developmenttrend affects the global geostrategic nerve, the stability of the internationalnon-proliferation regime, the world’s energy security and the situation of the MiddleEast, so it has been attracted wide attention. In2002, Iran’s secret nuclear research anddevelopment program has been exposed. The international community, especially theUnited States and the European Union in order to block Iranian nuclear development,put long-term and tough sanctions against Iran. Iran has to take various measuresagainst international sanctions, do everything possible to weaken the impact ofsanctions, trying to defend the rights of nuclear research.With the development of Iran’s nuclear issue in recent years, the struggle of theinternational community’s sanction and Iran’s anti-sanction is very intense, graduallybecome one of the main story line and important factor towards the Iranian nuclearissue. In this paper, the author will make a detailed description about the US and EUsanctions against Iran, Iran’s anti-sanction matures and the impact of sanctions on Iran,in order to analysis of the effect of sanctions on Iran’s nuclear issue. This papereventually comes to the following conclusions: The current international sanctionsagainst Iran is deep and complete and constantly extend. Although the sanctions didnot prevent Iran’s nuclear program from the technical aspects, but seriously hurtIranian economy, damaged the lives of Iranian people, and eventually promptedpolitical change in Iran. Iran’s anti-sanction measures did not fully make their ownrescue, Iran was forced to restart the nuclear negotiations with the internationalcommunity and make huge concessions. In other words, sanctions have played acrucial role in solving the Iranian nuclear issue.
