Research Study Of The Home-based Care Model Applied In The Old Bungalow Community In Beijing

With the trend of high-speed population aging in China,the number of aging people in Beijing is increasing more and more rapidly.This phenomenon is especially apparent in the old central urban district.Due to the huge amount of the aging population,nursing agencies and resources are lacking,and the traditional family support for the elderly is weakened.As a result,a new supporting system for the elderly,i.e.the Home-Based Care Model,has become the most effective solution to the difficulty of supporting the elderly,which is led by the government and with participation of the society and families.It is also called the Integrated Community-Based Home Care.Therefore,it is of great significance to make further research on this Home-Based Care Model and provide feasible solutions based on the studies.In this thesis,research methods of literature review analysis,field research conduction,in-depth interviews,and case-study analysis are used.The support situation for the elder people is described and analyzed.From both theoretical and practical angles,research on the Home-Based Care Model is carried out.Feasible solutions to the pension problem are proposed.WZM community is taken as the case to study in this thesis,which is a typical old bungalow community located in the central urban district.This thesis is organized into five chapters.In Chapter ?,the background,motivation and significance of this research work are described.Pertinent theories and concepts and domestic and overseas research status are introduced,based on which the research ideas and methods of this thesis are proposed.Chapter ?introduces the current situation of the elderly people who stay at home in Beijing,including the situation of aging population in Beijing,the summary of the Home-Based Care Model in Beijing,and its problems.A case of the elderly people living in WZM community is analyzed in Chapter III.Based on the observation and in-depth interview to the elderly,direct feedback from the micro sense of the elderly people is obtained.It mainly contains the fundamental state of WZM community,the condition of the home-living elderly people in WZM community,the realistic foundation of the Home-Based Care Model of WZM community,the current policies and methods of the Home-Based Care Model,the problems of the new Model,and the ideal pension Model of the elderly living in WZM community.In Chapter IV,policy recommendations are proposed for the Home-Based Care Model from family,society and government levels,based on the founding,field research and in-depth interviews,as well as experiences from the developed countries.
