A Study On The “South Advance” Of Japanese Strategy From The Perspective Of Geopolitics

Japan is a maritime country which is surrounded by the sea.This kind of geographical environment influences Japan's development in all time.Due to the geographical environment,there are such two kinds of trends of national strategies as "South Advance" and "North Advance".However,the “ South Advance ” is a kind of macro-strategic trend covering politics,economy and military.From the “South Advance” political policy after Meiji Restoration to the economic policy constructing “Geese Model” during the cold war period and even to the “Value Oriented Diplomacy” in nowadays,“South Advance”policy is the major trend for Japan ' s development in the last 200 years.From the perspective of geographical politics,this study tries to sort the national strategic trend of Japan under the background of geographical environment of Japan and Southeast Asia.It regards the history of “South Advance” in different stage after Meiji Restoration as the main line,combing the present“Trouble-maker”statue of Japan in Southeast Asia.Furthermore,the geopolitics is the consequence which can play a long-term role in dealing the China-Japan relation and maintaining regional stability and development.
