Problems And Countermeasures Of Community Participation In Urban Elderly

Since implementation of Reform and Opening-up policy,our country's economy has been developing greatly.The number of urban aging population continues to increase.The aging problem is increasingly becoming a restriction factor of economic development in our country.Actively dealing with aging and making old people live happily are greatly significant for harmonious development of the society and socialist economic construction of our country.Community participation is an important way to deal with aging.Based on the actual situation of our country,this paper analyzes that long-term "unit system" results in dependent personality of old people,and "unit system" is also the historical reason for the passive participation in the community.According to the present situation of our country,a new evaluation system of community participation in urban elderly is put forward.Via analyzing old people participating in community activities in two communities located in Suzhou city found that leisure,entertainment and health are the main reasons for the community participation of the elderly people.The past experiences of the elderly have a great guiding effect on the community participation.In addition,Community party organizations play an important role in leading and guiding the community participation.The elderly members of the community are the backbone of community participation.Via analyzing,plight and difficulty for the elderly community participation are obtained: obstruction resulted from traditional concept,ignorance of community construction under the process of social development,administrative guidance of community,complexity of community construction resulted from urbanization,weakening sense of belonging and correlation.Combined with the actual situation,several suggestions,methods and countermeasures about solving problems on old people participating in community activates are proposed,they are from four aspects respectively: state system,community construction,social organization and family support.
