In recent years,with the rapid growth of urbanization rate in China,the population of urban minorities increases rapidly,the urban community ethnic composition becomes increasingly more diverse,and the urban ethnic relations are more sensitive and complicated.As one of the important components of ethnic work in China,the importance of ethnic work in the overall situation is increasingly apparent,and the urban community ethnic work requires new thoughts and changes.At present,there are many single studies on the ethnic theory,ethnic relations theory and community governance theory and so on.However,there are not so manycomprehensive empirical innovation studies on the urban multi-ethnic community governance with the diversified theories through combining ethnic work with urban multi-ethnic community governance.Focusing on the theme of "urban multi-ethnic community governance innovation under the perspective of harmonious society",it makes theoretical and practical research on the Huancheng North Road Community in Yichang City,sorts out the practical experience of domestic and foreign urban multi-ethnic community governance,discusses about the new countermeasures and new ideas of urban multiethnic community governance,and forms a innovation practice guidance frame of urban multi-ethnic community governance.This paper mainly uses the ethnology,sociology,Marxist ethnic theory and policy and other theoretical systems,combined with the actual situation of community ethnic work in Xiling district of Yichang City,analyzes and summarizes the innovation practical experience of Huancheng North Road Community in Yichang City,with emphais on: First,analysis of the new conditions,new characteristics and reasons of ethnic problems and ethnic work in Huancheng North Road Community in Yichang City.Second,summary of how to better play the roles of the government's civil affairs departments and the community-based social organization in community ethnic work.Third,putting forward constructive opinions on the urban multi-ethnic community governance innovation mode.
