Research On The Influence Of Family Structure Transformation To Urban Elder Security In China

At present,China is facing a serious crisis of aging,and the demand for the elderly is increasing rapidly.The family,as the basic unit of our society,has always been responsible for the old age and their life.Family-based insurance is an important tool for the old man's life to be guaranteed,and it is the first choice for many old people to choose for their late life.However,in the process of rapid social development,family structure has undergone tremendous changes,and the function of family care has also been influenced.Thus in the context of an aging population the pattern of urban old-age pension has a certain practical significance.This paper analyses the changes in the family structure of our country since 1949.The results showed that the miniaturization and nuclearization of urban househo Ids has become increasing significantly,compared with before.Changes in household size can come about either because of alterations in co-residence patterns or because of changes in fertility and mortality.Because of the social progress and the change of people's ideology,new family structure is also showing.In this context,the functions of family-based insurance are weakening,the resources for the aged are shrinking,and the ethical foundation of family care for the old people has been weakened.The urban old-age security system is facing many challenges,such as the pressure of payment,the low level of protection and the increasing demand of health.Under the pressures of aging population and the demographic status,the traditional endowment insurance systems of Japan,America and Singapore,are facing severe challenges.So,measures are taken in response to the crisis and they have played a tremendous role,from which we can get some thinking to improve our pension system.Finally,this paper puts forward some measures to improve the urban endowment insurance system of our country.The most important idea is to integrate family-based insurance and social endowment insurance,and play their respective functions,so that social endowment insurance can undertake the responsibility of old care differentiated from the family,and reduce the pension risks.At the same time,our country also need to give full consideration to the requirements of the elderly,from their living needs to spiritual needs and other aspects.We need a positive attitude to face China's current pension challenges,and try our best to create a good social environment for the elderly.
