An Empirical Study On Correlation Between Political Trust,Reception Of Government Performance And Reception Of Government Responsiveness

Government responsiveness is an age characteristics that the governments of modern countries must possess.Meanwhile,as the logical extension of the theory of government management and the administrative idea,it has gradually become a hot issue of common concern between governments and academia.The existing research on government response mainly focuses on theoretical framework and mechanism construction of government response,as well as the interaction between government and citizens in cyberspace.Although the government is trying to build a responsible government and increasing the rate of response to citizens' demands through various channels,but are citizens satisfied with the government's response? This is also an important indicator reflecting the efficiency of government's response.Based on the project,“Survey of China's Urban and Rural Social Governance in 2015”,mainly through the empirical research method,using the questionnaire tools and with the help of SPSS19.0 statistical software,this paper conducted data and analysis on the information of citizens' assessment of trust in political system,government institutions,government systems,political parties,as well as political values,and also studied the factors that affect citizens' perception of government response.What's more,several statistical analysis methods,such as descriptive statistical analysis,cross-list analysis and Pearson correlation test,multivariate linear regression analysis,were used successively,and the relationships between demography and Social psychology variables,political trust variables and between government performance variables and citizens' perception of Government response were discussed,too.The research has found that the degree of Chinese citizens' perception of government response is above average from the overall sample.Nevertheless,compared with most groups,more than one third of citizens still show lower levels of perception of government response,which is closely related to the current social background in China.In addition,citizens' perception of governmental information transparency,the level of political trust and the perception of government performance and citizens' income all have a significant impact on the perception of government response.Among them,the higher income,the higher perception of government response.Citizens' perception of government response is also influenced by the level of government information transparency,that is,the more citizens think that the government will hide information from the common people,the lower the perception of its government's response is.By contraries,the more trust citizens have in the National people's Congress,local governments and ordinary government officials,the higher their perception of government response is.In the level of government performance perception,the citizens who believe that the better the overall economic situation of our country,the higher their perception of the government response is.Five years later,the better the overall economic situation of our country the citizens think,the higher their perception of the government response is.The more optimistic the citizens are about the security of their current residence,the higher their perception of government response is.However,compared with five years ago,there is a negative correlation between the perception of economic situation and the perception of government response.That is to say that citizens who think that the current economic level has a greater improvement than five years ago have a lower level of perception of the government response.According to the results of empirical analysis and combining with the reality of China's current social development,this paper puts forward some targeted countermeasures and suggestions in order to provide decision basis for improving Chinese citizens' perception of government response.
