Geography, a discipline which studies the phenomena in the geographical environment and the relationships between the human and natural phenomena, has the characteristics of extensity, divergent and image. These characteristics make the publication of digital textbooks match the requirements of the geography textbooks' edit. In this context, the strategies of digital publication of middle school geography textbooks have become a subject which has to be studied.This article based on the present situation of the geography textbooks of middle school, Elaborates the current status that the original paper textbooks are still given the first place, while supplemented by the digital ones. A variety of digital research and development gains their population, such as the digitization of paper textbooks, the read-only CD ROM, the MPR textbooks, the network teaching platform, the electronic schoolbags. This paper also discusses the difficulties of the present digital publishing. The teaching content is not adapt to the digital needs, geography textbooks, teaching materials lack of digital publishing platform of digital lacking of talent development, Also, this paper proposes three optimization strategies for digital publication of middle school textbooks: To develop and strengthen the contents of the digital textbook, to construct the platform of digital textbook, as well as to optimize the employee teams of digital publishing.
