Since the 2007 reform of the postgraduate education system, all the experimental universities and colleges have made remarkable explorations and practices in optimizing the process of education and improving the education quality. However, issues do exist during the reform of the education mechanism. The thesis aims to make a study on the mechanism of benefit balance in the reform of the postgraduate education system from the perspective of benefit game and principal-agent theory.Firstly, the concept of game theory and principal-agent theory will be explained on the basis of the theme of the thesis, so the key terms such as "mechanism", "the mechanism of post graduation education", "benefit" will be introduced. The range of benefit and the beneficiary will be defined in the reform of the post graduate education reform. According to the research, four levels of principal-agent relations exist from top to bottom, and the four levels of relations will be analyzed in detail.Secondly, the game among different beneficiaries in the post graduation reform will be described. The author will claim that a series of problems will arise from the unreasonable game, such as the unfair distribution of the resources, the insufficient management, unreasonable system and ineffective evaluation and feedback. Then the reason for the benefit issues will be further explored from the perspective of principal-agent theory.Lastly, some solutions will be introduced to solve the benefit issues in the reform of the post graduate education. Four strategies to realize the benefit balance will be explained in this thesis as follows:strengthening the information exchange mechanism, improving the supervision and restriction mechanism, establishing benefit compensation mechanism and regulating the operation mechanism. The four behavioral strategies will be implemented to ease the conflicts between the beneficiaries, regulate the behavior of the principal and agent so that the reform of the post graduate education system will be made smoothly and the quality of the post graduate education will be improved.
