Preview is the first step in the process of learning high school mathematics. And preview can help students with their learning in many respects. It can help the students develop the habit and the ability of self-study. It stimulates their initiative and improves their abilities of exploring and thinking independently. Preview makes a better plan and better preparation for their study which improves the efficiency and quality of learning. It is a common phenomenon that students with learning difficulties behave the lower efficiency in the math preview in the practical teaching. The lower efficiency influences their level of study and reduces their confidence badly. It even has sever effect on the development of their physical and mental health, which gravely impacts the normal teaching. As a consequence, it is of vital practical significance to solve the problem of inefficient preview for students who have bad behaviors in math learning.This essay aims at finding out the reason for inefficient preview and putting forward some strategies. The essay is based on the questionnaire and interview surveys which was conducted in 660 students in Grade 11 and 12 selected from No. 8 Middle School of Huang Dao, No. 3 Middle school of Lin Yi and Ji Nan Foreign Language School, 10 parents of students with difficulties, 10 math teachers in high school. The reasons that were concluded contains the four respects: 1.The weak awareness of preview. They don't have enough emphasis on preview and don't recognize the importance of preview in math study. 2.The lower ability of preview and inappropriate methods. The students with weak foundations and limit abilities waste much time understanding the content of textbook and couldn't search for a better method to preview. They seldom make a deeper exploration and research independently and actively. 3.The lack of elements of arousing positivity and initiative. The low requirements and supervisions of math preview from parents result in the students' laziness and reduce their initiative. They barely experience the joy of achievements and have no interest in previewing. 4.For students with difficulties in learning math, they are prone to be influenced by the poor external environments. Under the same condition, if the students don't think highly of the external environments and their teachers, school, they may reduce the enthusiasm of preview and have a bad mood for learning.Based on the reasons of inefficient preview, the directions and requirements from teachers are formulated as follows: 1.Strength the awareness and attach importance to the preview. Pay more attention to the situation and development of students with difficulties in mathematics. 2.Assistant the students in time arrangement and improve their sense of time. In this way they can avoid wasting time and the habit of procrastination. 3.Help them improve the ability to analysis and solve mathematic problems, which can also build up the mathematic knowledge and skills. It is helpful for their mathematic thinking abilities. 4.Tutor them to find the best method of preview according to their actual conditions and make some timely adjustments. 5.Give the students with difficulties in math the concrete objectives and requirements to help them identify the clear direction. 6.Help the students with difficulties to improve the confidence. And the teacher should design the links in the teaching process to make the students feel the sense of achievements and happiness, which will help them build up the determination to succeed. 7. Assist them to cultivate the quick and neat work style and get rid of the bad habit of procrastination. 8.Give them timely psychological counseling and protect their hearts from the troubles and difficulties. 9.Take several methods to supervise and urge the students to preview and keep checking. 10.Read up the criteria of the new curriculum and analysis their learning conditions and formulate the appropriate objectives for their preview.The essay offers the basic procedures of guiding the students to preview with the purpose of strengthening the practicality and operability: 1.Read up the criteria of new curriculum and analysis the textbook and learning conditions. 2.Give clear objectives of preview for the students with difficulties in math study. 3.State the emphasis of preview for the students. 4.Instructions for preview for the students. 5.Check the results of their preview.
