Under the New Curriculum Reform, an education theory "Three Abilities" is raised by my school in the course of the Second Development. "Three Abilities" means students will have "the ability to think independently, the ability to learn for life and the ability to perform practically" and it lays a foundation for a person of high quality. With the change of the curriculum, the teaching methods in class should be changed, too. In class, the teacher plays a leading part in the whole process of teaching. Therefore, the ideas and behaviors of teachers should be improved. The leading part in class should be the students. Since the curriculum and teaching methods are changing, the student's learning ways should be changed, too. How can we adapt the traditional teaching methods to the new "Three Abilities" and "Guide and Understand" methods? The whole thesis is based on "Guide and Understand" theory, which means "Teaching by guidance and learning by understand", focuses on how to raise questions in class to make the learning in class effectively and finally helps the students to develop the "Three Abilities".The thesis consists of five parts. Part one provides the background, states the meaning and presents the content, methods and theory of this research. Part twois mainly about the definitions and concepts of the "Three Abilities" and "Guide and Understand", including the relationship between students and teachers in "Three Abilities" method, four teaching steps of "Guide and Understand" in class and ways to improve thinking skills in "Guide and Understand" class. Part three is about the research on how to raise questions in physics class based on "Three Abilities" and "Guide and Understand" theories, including some problems in traditional physics classes, the rules that should be followed when questions are raised, and ways and skills to raise questions. Part four provides teaching designs and learning designs to illuminate how to raise questions in physics class under the guidance of "Three Abilities" and "Guide and Understand". The results are concluded and analyzed. Part five is the summary.
