To develop customized school-based curriculum now is a central and hot educational topic. The customized school-based curriculum is still within and follows the local & national curriculum system. It's a further reform of elementary education in China. In recent years, with the heat of art exam rising, and the number of students specialized in painting growing, there is a large number of such students in author's school. If we want to develop a customized information technology course suitable for the students specialized in painting, we can't copy other school-based curriculum in ordinary Senior High School. We should pay attention to the features of the art students and set our own educational targets as the following: to improve their quality, to enhance their skills, to solid their IT foundation, and to expand their creative thinking.In this paper, the author defines the research as the theoretical basis and guiding ideology of curriculum development which is on the basis of consulting lots of literature and combing the literature reviews regarding the topic. Meanwhile, the study case is based on the students specialized in painting of Qingdao No.17 Senior High School. The author sets up the theme, process, target, content, implementation and evaluation system of the customized school-based curriculum after her sufficient demand analysis. The course focuses on teaching design and improving students' learning interest to enhance their ability of design through practice of two specific cases. After finishing that it gave us a concrete development processure of the customized school-based curriculum.In this article, through the author's theoretical thinking and practical exploration of the school-based IT course for students specialized in painting, the customized course conforms to the requirements of the students' individuality development, benefits to teachers' professional development, and also would play a positive role in promoting the formation of school's educational characteristics. According to the characteristics of the teaching object and differences, the author hope to do a supplementary study of school-based curriculum in information technology course, supplying the reference for featuring the school's teaching research & practice of information technology.
