We have ushered the information age in the21st century. With the rapid development of information technology, especially Internet technology, the countries all over the world pay more attention to the education of information technology. As important content of information technology education, information literacy has become a basic literacy for social members and one of the important indexes for the society to evaluate whether an individual will adapt to the social development or not. Because the development of high school students having being considered as the successors to socialism relates to the one of our country, the cultivation of information literacy for high school students is quite significant.Therefore, this study adopts the method of literature research to conclude and analyze the current cultivation on the information literacy at home and abroad based on the connotation of information literacy. Further more, this research analyzes the current situation of information literacy of junior high school students in Bazhou, Xinjiang by questionnaire, finds out the problems presented in this region on students’cultivation of information literacy, provides effective strategies for cultivating the information literacy of junior high school students during the process of information technology teaching, and then puts them into the teaching practice. After the method of action research, the author checks the feasibility and effectiveness of adopted teaching strategies. Through the results of research, the author reflects on the process of teaching in order to promote the improvement of information literacy of high school students in this region.This research includes the following seven chapters:the first chapter is the introduction, mainly introducing the background and significance of this study, elaborating the thought, method and content of this study, and then summarizing the study history and current researches on information literacy education at home and abroad, which is quite beneficial to the smooth study. This second chapter is the theoretical thrusts of this research because any practice need support from theory. This research mainly introduces the constructivism theory, the activity theory, and the guidance of the two theories. The third chapter describes the connotation of information literacy, further analyzes the basic information literacy for junior high school students, and then achieves the more correct understanding on cultivation of information literacy. The fourth chapter is the statistics and analysis of questionnaire and data. In order to make the research have more pertinence, the author selects junior high school students in the region of Bazhou, Xinjiang, as the respondents. The questions in questionnaire are designed and analyzed according to the following four dimensionalities, such as information consciousness, information knowledge, information competence and information ethics. The fifth chapter is to provide effective strategies. The information technology teaching is the main way for students to gain the information literacy, so how to effectively develop the information technology teaching is the key one. This chapter basically puts forward three teaching strategies, such as the task driven, the situational approach and the lamination teaching, and analyzes the feasibility as well as the effect of these strategies to the students’information literacy during the classroom of information technology in the region based on the forth chapter. The sixth chapter is to adopt these strategies into the teaching practice of this region according to the process of action research for cultivating the students’information literacy. The author makes the study through actions, and then verifies the feasibility as well as validity of the proposed strategies. The last chapter is the summary and prospect, summarizing the contents of this study and hoping that through this research, the author can gain greater achievement; make up for the deficiency in the future studies, and provide the further research.
