| Geographic chart is the carrier of geographical knowledge, the direct aid of geography teaching, the sources of the geographic information, the better aids to the cultivate geographical thinking ability, especially the image thinking ability. Geographical chart can compare many quantity lists together. I simplifies the teaching materials of the narrative text and the description of number proportion of geography things. Geographical chart can also indicate the number relationship of factors of geographical things, reflect the elements of the analysis, the changing rule of the development and reveal the essential characteristics of the geographical objects. The essay classified the image and the geographical charts of the junior high school geography textbook and come up with the teaching strategies of geographical charts. The study concludes as follows:(One) There are 88 geographic charts in junior high school geography textbook, including 56 statistical figures and 35 statistical tables.(Two) The geographic charts of junior high school geography textbook are divided into five categories, including the line chart, histogram, curve of cylindrical composite figure, pie chart and form. There are 13 line charts,14 histograms, 17 curve of cylindrical composite figures, 8 pie charts and 36 forms. They are respectively accounted for 15%,16%,19%,9% and 41% of the charts.(Three) There are four dominating strategies in teaching geographic charts of junior high school. First of all, we should guide students to learn to read geographical statistical chart type. Then we need guide students to learn to read the figure of different kinds of geographical charts. Next, we can guide students to draw the steps of common geographical charts. Finally, we trend to guide students to learn to apply the geography statistical charts to our life. |
