The new generation information technology is making substantial impact on individual and organization, promoting the maker movement all over the world,maker education is flouring.Maker education was first started in America, and for now,America is the best in this area. In China, Beijing, Shanghai, Changzhou, Wenzhou,Xi'an, Shenzhen.etc city also develops maker education fast.Present study reveals the current study on maker education are almost experience summary, and has rare study on curriculum making decision in maker education. In order to break through the research gaps in this area, this thesis build three analyzed dimensions-the decision maker,decision contents and decision process to analyze the status of curriculum decision making in California maker education.This thesis adopts literature research, case study and bibliometrical method, and after generalizing and analyzing relevant resources, it finds that there have many parties of decision maker who presents different interests, and become “deliberative collective”.About the decision contents, the content of the federal government and the state government is relatively flexible,and the school curriculum making decision content is made around specific teaching situation.The decision process adopt the gradually renew mode.In general, the features of curriculum decision making in California maker education indicates:(1)Although the federal government has made detailed initiative statement about maker education,but it hasn't issue any official policy;(2)The state government still makes STEM education as key point;(3)The experts,principles and teachers are the most important power of curriculum decision making in California maker education.The thesis finds there are three reasons to form this status:the function of each level curriculum decision, the cultural spirit and the subject characteristics.The appearance of maker education rooted in the cultural spirit of ‘‘ freedom,create and practical '',and curriculum decision in different level can realize different function,such as making the curriculum closer to the development of the school.Besides,due to the influence of the subject characteristics, the birth of maker education in American was spontaneous.With the feature summary and analysis of the status, it draws inspiration for China to develop maker education, Firstly, the central government should: issue a relevant official document or policy, raise the attention on maker education, balancethe development between different provinces; Secondly, the local government should organize and advocate maker education actively, and meet the local development needs; Thirdly, school should: encourage the principle to initiate maker education in schools, encourage the teachers and experts to join the curriculum decision through curriculum action research, pay attention to the students involvement, empowerment parents the participation in curriculum decision making, build network communication platform,promote mutual cooperation and exploration between schools.
