The degree of students'hobby development has an important impact on the quality of life for a person. Along with the improvement of people's living standard and the deep development of quality education in our country, the school and the parents of the students pay more attention to cultivate their hobbies. But at present, the development status of hobby of primary and middle school students, there are no systematical study on these problems: what factors affect the hobbies development of students, whether there are differences between urban and rural students'hobbies development. This paper summrizes the relevant literatures and constructs a simple model of the students'hobby development and influencing factors of students, and investigates 650 students of four primary schools in Jilin Province. This paper uses Blau and Duncan's basic model of the occupational attainment process for reference based on the empirical data, and analyzes status and influencing factors of hobby development, and compares the different influencing factors of hobby development for urban and rural students. By the analysis of the data and questionnaire, this paper concludes that: frist, the degree of students'hobbies development of urban and rural students and rural-urban continuum is different. Second, self support influence most on the development of students' hobbies. Third, in the development of students'hobbies, the school support factors and family support factors are very closely rated, which becomes home-school cooperation situation. Fourth, the influence factors of students'hobbies in different areas are different. The biggest influence factors of urban students'hobbies are family support factors; while the biggest influence factors of rural students and rural-urban continuum students' hobbies are self support factors. Finally, based on the relevant research findings, this paper puts forward some concrete suggestions to cultivate the students' hobbies.
