Since the 21 st century,with the rapid development of economy,China has obviously become a modern city.The fast-paced lifestyle makes people forget the slow-paced humanistic life.The appearance of high-tech products,such as mobile phone and computer,makes people put down their books,pens in their hands,immerses themselves in the screen all day long,neglects the spiritual edification that reading brings to people,and makes a serious impact on the development of personal reading ability.The International Reading Society points out: "the level of reading ability directly determines the future of a country and a nation." It can be seen that reading ability plays an important role in education and the country.President Xi Jinping's speech at Beijing normal University It is mentioned that: "adhere to the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and strengthening the country with talents","adhere to the strategic position of giving priority to the development of education" and "there is a problem of unbalanced regional development in education in our country,and the overall conditions of education are not very ideal." It shows that our country attaches great importance to education.However,the long-term urban-rural dual economic structure system has led to the unbalanced development of urban and rural compulsory education,which is bound to have an indirect impact on students' reading ability.Therefore,the study of students' Chinese reading ability is more meaningful.The author looks up the periodicals and papers about "reading ability" and "the balanced development of compulsory education" at home and abroad through the databases such as China knowledge Network and so on.At the same time,the author looks up the relevant books in the school library,and collects and arranges the relevant materials through the collection and arrangement of the relevant materials.Analyze and summarize the evaluation,complete the summary of the theoretical research,provide the theoretical basis for the research in this paper.On this basis,this paper takes three county primary schools and three rural primary schools in Jiayu County as the research sites,based on the background of the balanced development of compulsory education in urban and rural areas.278 students were investigated by Chinese reading ability test questions and student questionnaire,and 282 students were investigated by parent questionnaire.Through the teacher questionnaire,136 teachers were investigated.At the same time,6 principals,36 teachers and 54 students in urban and rural primary schools were interviewed.Then through the comparative analysis of the main factors affecting the differences in reading ability between urban and rural primary school students and the reasons for the differences,and in view of the reasons for the differences in reading ability between urban and rural pupils,finally put forward the corresponding strategies.The empirical study on Chinese reading ability of primary school students in urban and rural areas can be regarded as one of the indicators to investigate the implementation of the policy of "balanced development of compulsory education in the county",which has a good reference significance to a certain extent,and it can be used as a reference for education.The adjustment of the policy provides a reference.Through the investigation and study of the urban and rural primary schools in Jiayu County,the author draws the following conclusions:(1)The differences of Chinese reading ability between urban and rural primary school students are mainly in the aspects of teachers,families and students.The teachers' teaching methods are single and rural teachers' sense of responsibility is not strong;In the aspect of family,the collection of books in rural families is small and the attention paid to education by rural families is not enough;the students' reading interest is not high and the reading habits of rural students are not good.(2)This paper expounds the main reasons for the differences in Chinese reading ability between urban and rural students from three aspects: teachers,families and students.The main reasons for teachers are the low threshold of rural schools and the low level of teachers' own knowledge;the family reasons are weak ideology and outdated values for rural families;the reasons for students are more recreational activities and blind choices for rural students.(3)In view of the above-mentioned problems,the author puts forward the corresponding strategies: at the level of teachers,we should improve the professional level of teachers,introduce talents with high academic qualifications and increase the investment of funds in rural schools,so as to improve the conditions of teachers' treatment;At the family level,it is necessary to establish a family-school cooperative mode to meet the students' learning needs and carry out the ideological work of their parents,and fill in the new educational ideas;Students should give students correct interest guidance,stimulate students' reading interest and correct students' learning attitude,so as to cultivate students' good reading quality.
