This paper analyzed and summarized the vertebrate-related knowledge in junior school biology Mongolian textbooks, expanded and extended the knowledge of vertebrates in the form of curriculum resources. The purpose was to achieve the three-dimensional target in the new curriculum standard better and to improve the efficiency of teaching effectively. The results showed that: there are totally 333 species(or family, genus) of vertebrates in the biology Mongolian textbooks, including 47 fishes, 22 amphibians, 31 reptiles, 87 birds and 146 mammals. Choose 86 vertebrates as expanded introduction in order to stimulate students' interest and improve students' biological science literacy.In the process of the research, some wrong of vertebrates name were found and some corresponding opinions were put forwarded. Toward the textbook editing, suggestions of using Mongolian traditional animal name as possible, highlighting the national characteristics, listing more instances conductive to Mongolian students to understand in common, popularizing the STS education were proposed.
