The topic of this graduation project is the research on the creation of safety education in children's picture books.In order to meet the demand of market of this style and enrich the its content,my creation of the picture book called “One Day of Dingding and Lele” makes the abstract safety concept more vivid,which helps children learn about safety concept and arouses their self-protection awareness.The first part required for the Research Report.For children safety recognition and creation of picture books,the writer first conducted the research on the status quo of children safety education both at home and abroad.Then the writer recognized the safety education demand of children's parents and teachers mainly by interview and questionnaire and found it monotonous in both method and content of safety education.Meanwhile,through research by internet and on-the-spot investigation,the writer learned about the status quo of the market in the picture book on safety education,which is characterized by the pile-up of knowledge and boring.The results of the above research made this project workable and provided the new idea of creation and direction.The second part is the literature Study.In order to help children learn about the safety concept and Children Developmental Psychology,The writer found the golden period lying between 3 to 6 years old.The writer hopes to find the theoretical support for the safety education method by knowing the child recognition traits,study method and periodical feature.By reading many excellent books,the writer found the feature of children's vision,perception,concentration and memory and so on.By sorting out more than 100 picture books,The writer mainly analyzed the image features,text layout,color language,perceptual design,arriving at some designing principles including image characteristics,composition characteristics,color cognition,which form the theoretical guidance.The third part is the process practice design report.Based on the previous market research,this design focuses on the most ignorable part of safety education by children's parents and educators.The writer chose the most prevalent case as the main body of story,combined with the children's feature of cognition,removing the complex sentence structure.Many question and answer about safety are complemented in the whole story,which enlighten the children and enhance the interactivity.This design applies the use of designing method catering children's esthetic taste to the design of composition of picture,color and the role image,adding the texture design,crayon and watercolor painting skills,which enrich the vision feeling and interest in a parent-child reading mode.The fourth Part is aimed to summary the report.Regarding the potential domestic demand of the safety education,based on the children's cognitive feature,the design of this safety education picture book aims to cultivate the children's self-protection awareness and deepen the understanding of the safety concept,and make humble contribution to the child safety education cause in China.
