This paper will discuss historical evolution process of the long period of Mianchuan islet in the two aspects of the geographical environment, historical and social changes. It is the method studying the social history from the perspective of regional history. The Yangtze River is the dividing line between the two provinces of Jiangxi and Anhui.The Mianchuan islet located in the center of the Yangtze River,which is formed by the mud and sand deposited here over a long period of time.In this process the evolution of natural environment is an important factor and human impact is also an important factor in its development.This paper will investigate the development of Mianchuan islet from Penglize to another period,carding the records about Mianchuan islet in the historical records in detail,so to form a complete process.This paper will investigate when people settle down at it,original living conditions,the development of primitive agriculture and fishery and development and construction of Ming Dynasty Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, after the liberation. It will discuss the history and social changes of Mianchuan islet from different point of views.In this long period, the country and the society play a different role.from the first administrative jurisdiction unit,to set the Du unit and then becoming the largest in Qing Dynasty, and the population is increasing all the time after the liberation,the living conditions of the residents have gradually improved are all the research contents of this paper. Now for the partition of the river,cause traffic inconvenience,and economic development has lagged behind the two sides of the Yangtze River.The population has shown a downward trend so it has faced with the dilemma of development.How to get out of the difficult situation is an urgent problem that the contemporary people need to solve.
