In modern society, tutoring out of class has become a common phenomenon in education. It is even a trend for students to receive tutoring service after class. Influenced by the traditional ideas,as well as parents’ great expectations for their children, they are forced to send their children to attend after-school training classes to consolidate their academic performance.Although students’ comprehensive qualities are strongly emphasized and they should be developed in an all-round way, many schools tend to pay too much attention to students’ academic achievements due to the long-term affection of exam-oriented education. Therefore, the following phenomena are in our sight: very big class size, inadequate teaching abilities and less development in students’ individual abilities.Furthermore, the further education system leads to the prevalence of tutoring services.Various training classes emerge in our society, including those of poor quality in tutoring. The tutoring market is in disorder. All these aspects results in such bad consequences as the big schooling burden for students, and the economic pressure for parents. Besides, it is parents’ and students’ great reliance on the extracurrilum tutoring that inflences our schools’ teaching to some extent. So, from my point of view, the tutoring “heat” should arouse our reflections.In this paper, I aim at the investigation of the students and teachers of higher grade in a primary school in Huhehaote city in the form of quetionnaires, interviews, research in literatures and observations, especially focusing on the exploration of extracurrilum tutoring. Firstly, I conduct a questionnaire of students participating in tutoring after class in a primary school in Huhehaote City. The investigation shows that the majority of students of higher grade are receiving the tutoring service. Secondly, from two aspects--- tutoring itself and parents’ and students’ choices of it,I investage the existing problems of tutoring, in the mean time, explore the problems of tutoring among studnets of mid- upper grades by sorting out the interviews about teachers, their students and the concerned parents. The exploration was also done on the basis of the supervising level of local government, parents’ and students’ demands, parents’ group psychology, students’ own willingness, students’ selecting “studying companion” and their academic pressure.Thirdly, I also reflects on the tutoring phenomenon and its problems from the following five sections: the administrative of local government, competitions among schools and their teaching administrative, the differences in teachers’ treatments, working experiences and professional abilities, the differeces in parents’ outlooks and attitudes toward their children’s study, students’ own demands and the influence caused by the surrounding atmosphere. Last but not least, I make some suggestions on dealing with the relevant issues of training schools. They are these: The local government should invest more in education financially so as to promote the balanced development in different regions, increase teachers’ salaries and regulate the tutoring market; the school authoratives should be aware of proper education, shift the teaching concept, value the solid practice of quality teaching, innovate the teaching methods, renew teachers’ professional skills and comprehensive abilities; students and their parents treat the form of tutoring in a proper way; the tutoring agencies should perfect the assessment and feed-back system and have a awareness of grand brands. On the other hand, we should consider the extracurrilum tutoring in a different way, accepting its essence and omitting its dross, thus treating it in a rational way.
