With the multimedia is gradually and fully used in the classroom teaching of the primary school, that multimedia courseware is widely used in the English teaching has become one of the features of English teaching in the new period.Some investigations show that during the English teaching, the problem of the students' "dumb English" is serious, the reason of which is the lacking of the ideal language environment. Multimedia courseware can integrate chart, text and sound to a whole, whose advantage can fill the lack of real communication environment in English classroom. So this study will solve the following question: how to use multimedia courseware effectively to improve the fluency of students' oral English?Through the questionnaire survey and testing method, the author investigate the students' oral English ability in a primary school and find that there exists some commonalities about the current situation of the oral English between the students in that school and the pupils at the present stage.After analyzing its formation factors from four aspects that is educators, students, education means and teaching contents and combining the some theories such as, theory of constructivism and the theory of language sense, etc, the author propose that multimedia courseware should follow the following design principles :(1) focus on the scientific and interesting content;(2)focus on learners' principle;(3) put the listening and speaking in the first place during teaching;(4) making English dialogue in many situations.The results of the multimedia courseware applied in the teaching : that the students' score improved in the listening to imitate, answered questions and autonomous expression; and the confidence of learning in English was strengthened.Through the analyzing of the results,the author reached conclusions: the applied the multimedia courseware in the English teaching can improve students' language skill and knowledge, besides increase the interest and motivation on studying English,and promote the development of the other abilities such as collaborative learning and creative thinking. Moreover, analyzed the problems in the application process from students, teachers and the multimedia courseware perspective, based on the relevant literature and practical experience, put forward the corresponding solution strategies, hoping to provide a reference for subsequent research.
