Middle-aged women's health is a big issue related to social development and stability.Middle-aged women, which is a large group, are subject to great social pressure.Their body functions begin to decline after the age of 35,which will soon bring them into a sub-healthy state such as body fatigue, lack of energy, insomnia and cold hands and feet, unless pay more attention to health.Middle-aged women love Aerobics and yoga, but lack of necessary knowledge make many people hesitate to take part in.By referring to literature, interviewing experts, doing experiments and statistics, this thesis take new members aged from 40 to 60 of Dalian WHYTEWOOIF as its study subjects, test some of their morphological indicators, body functions and physical quality and analyze the test results in order to find out the fitness effects of aerobics and yoga on middle-aged women. The findings include:1.Aerobics and yoga both have an obvious effect on middle-aged women's weight,BMI,WHR,body fat percentage and vital capacity and their effects are nearly the same. Therefore both of them are ideal to lose weight, lose fat and shape body.2.Aerobics has a better effect on middle-aged women's resting heart rate and step index than yoga, which indicates that aerobics is effective in improving cardiovascular functions.3.Yoga has a better effect on sit-and-reach and stand-on-one-feet with eyes closed, which shows that yoga is effective in improving body flexibility and balance.4.Neither aerobics nor yoga has a remarkable effect on gripping power, which shows that they are weak at improving upper limb strength. The following proposals are brought forward:1.Aerobics and yoga have their pros and cons in improving middle-aged women's health. It is suggested to do both of them to get a better fitness effect if time and economic conditions allow.2.Aerobics and yoga cannot effectively improve upper limb strength.Specialized upper limb strength training are suggested to make coordinated development of all aspects of body fitness.3.The trainees are suggested to choose the most suitable way of fitness according to their needs, proceed from the simple to the difficult step by step and ultimately form a good fitness habit.4.A proper diet and good rest with reasonable water and mineral supplements are suggested for fitness exercise.
