With the fast development of economic globalization,English is regarded as a key to the communication with the world.The Chinese Education Department has confirmed that English Study accompany us in our whole learning period.Educators were concerned that traditional models of classroom teaching were teacher-fronted,fostered competition rather than cooperation,the minority students might fall behind higher-achieving students.But cooperation will raise the achievement of all students;help the teacher build positive relationship among students.“Group-divided Cooperation,Efficient Learning” is one kind of innovative learning methods.This learning method is based on the cooperative learning,and it is a recreation.This includes all the characteristics of the “cooperative learning”,as it brings out the advantages and avoids some of the weaknesses of it.5 years has passed since Anshan Normal University Affiliated Middle School adopted this learning method which is similar to that of Du Langkou Middle School.In this paper,the author analyses and makes some research about the English class under this learning method.The class is organized by five steps to carry out teaching goals.The first step: warming-up organized by the groups;the second step: proposed the teaching goal by the teacher;the third step: work in groups and study;the fourth step: presentation made by the groups;the last step: practice more in groups.Through the interaction of inner-group work and group-group work,the goal will be achieved.The thesis is aimed at proving the positive influence of “Group-divided Cooperation,Efficient Learning” in the teaching of English at middle school and this learning method should be used widely.Three questions are attempted: 1.Compare with the traditional teaching mode,how does this learning method affect the process of teaching and learning? 2.What is the influence of this learning method on the roles of the teachers' and the students' ? 3.What are the advantages of the new learning method that has included over the traditional one?The thesis is based on two classes in Grade Seven in Anshan Normal University Affiliated Middle School.The whole experiment includes questionnaires,pre-test,post-test,and interviews.The results show the cooperative learning method: 1.The teacher has become a helper of the learning process,and the students experience the leadership in class.2.The teacher releases the teaching's burden and increase the teaching efficiency.Students' learning motivation and interest can be increased as well as their leaning achievement.3.This learning method can help to enhance the students' independent learning ability as well as their social skills.
