A Study On The Current Situation Of Pingpong In High-School Level Training Schools In Henan Province

As one of the leading sports in China's competitive sports, Pingpong or table tennis has won the international reputation. Its achievements are closely related to the elite athletes produced by the tree-level training system of China. Schools for Pingpong training is the preliminary level of the three-level training system, and it has been a fundamental channel for producing back-up elite athletes. As a result, the quality of training in those schools becomes a indicator of the quality of Pingpong athletes. Research aimed at training schools has been increasing yet research aimed at training schools in Henan Province is still rare, especially those aimed at middle-school level. This research investigates the current situation of the training schools in Henan Province, analyzes the problems and offers solutions. The findings can be a guide to the future development of Pingpong training schools in Henan Province.This article investigates the current situation of the Pingpong training schools in Henan Province by means of literature, survey, mathematical statistics, and logical analysis. We randomly sampled 12 coaches, 12 administrative staff and 155 trainees in 12 schools, and conducted a survey by questionnaire. After analyzing their answers, we obtained the following findings.The training school in a middle-school level in H enan Province is inadequate and unfairly distributed, which has caused the inadequate production of elite athletes. Moreover, the weak supervision and the ignorance of some leaders in the school caused the fact that some students cannot receive enough training.The age structure of the coaches in Henan Province is reasonable and they have pa id considerable attention to their career. But Henan Province does not have its fair share of high-titled coaches. And their research ability remains in a rather low level. The dissatisfaction of their salary has caused low enthusiasm in training.The trainees in Henan Province have a high enthusiasm in training, and they pay attention to both physical training and study. However, the ratio of male to female is unbalanced, the technique of playing Pingpong is stubbornly fixed. The trainees own little experience of competition; thus, high-level athletes are rare. What's more, the mechanism of certification still needs to be completed.The single channel of funding causes most of the training schools' shortage of fund. Consequently, the poor condition of playground cannot meet the demand of training.The time of training can be guaranteed in training schools, but the arrangement of timing is not scientific designed. It lacks long-term training plans. Moreover, coaches value more on their techniques and physical conditions, but pay less attention to their psychological conditions.Further, we offered several suggestions in term of the existing problems emerged in our research. First, we should increase the quantity of training schools in order to discover more Pingpong elites. Second, the Physical department needs to supervise the training schools and integrate some schools that have no need to exist. Third, we should put more emphasis on the coaching team, increasing their enthusiasm by improving their research ability and salary. Then, the ratio between male and female athletes needs to be fair, and the skills and techniques should be multivariate. Coaches should put athletes in more competitions. Moreover, the Physical department should complete the certification mechanism. Last, training schools should develop more channels to ra ise fund in order to improve the conditions of training sites. And coaches should train athletes scientifically and effectively organize them.
