Higher Discipline Structure And Industrial Structure Of Suitability Analysis

As the determinate factor of social life,economic development decides education advancement;while human capital and technology generetad in the educational process drive the economic development forward.Respectively being the educational and economic module,disciplinary and industrial structures are increasingly interdependent.Specifically,industrial upgrading driven by economic growth demands for the corresponding changes in requirement for labor specialisation and capacity of human capital in each individual industry;when at the same time the disciplinary structure of the university education system should also adjust to industrial changes so as to secure the qualified labor supply.Local colleges and universities are the major propellor for regional economic growth.However,the most significant problem with the local higher ecucation today is the structural imbalance especially the disciplinary structural failure.Discipline setting has been widely separated from the social economic demand and university graudates can not accommodate well to the updated talent requirement imposed by the industrial progessing,which consequently led to the local education's inefficiency in serving economic goals.Therefore,applicability analysis of industrial structure and higher education disciplinary structure has significant implications.This paper takes Ningxia as an example,by studing the literatures in related to disciplinary structures of local universities and three major industries,it intends to analyse the interaction machanism of these two structures.For analysis purpose,with data from Educational Statistical Yearbook of China,Ningxia Statistical Yearbook,this paper draws graphs of proportion and dynamics on disciplinary structure of Ningxia higher education system and local instrial structure.A SPSS statistical analysis will also be conducted as including the correlation analysis,scatterplot matrix and regression analysis to examine the relationship between two array of variables.The study found that among all disciplines,agriculture studies and humanities are impacted by the primary industrial sectors,education and business studies are influenced by the secondary industry while medical science is free from impact of any category of industrial sectors.Therefore disciplinary structure of Ningxia universities and local industrial structure are partly applicable.This paper finally explains on the causes of the statistical results and suggests potential policy strategies.
