According to the latest policy of China,it is necessary to build a high-quality education system,improve the quality of higher education,classify and build first-class universities and first-class disciplines,accelerate the cultivation of talents in shortage in science,agriculture and medicine,and improve the quality and level of education in ethnic areas.At present,China is in the era of the junction of old and new changes in the development of higher education structure,whether the development of higher education structure and industrial structure is coordinated,and whether the development of higher education can promote the industrial structure to adjust in a favorable direction,all have an important impact on achieving sustainable economic growth.This study takes the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,the only minority autonomous region near the sea and a large province of higher education in China,as an example,and examines how the changes in the structure of higher education disciplines interact with the regional industrial structure in the context of high-quality economic development and the development trend of educational integration.Firstly,this study compares and summarizes the current situation of research on higher education structure and regional economic development at home and abroad,and clarifies relevant concepts and theoretical foundations.Secondly,we analyze the development trend of industrial structure and the scale and level of higher education development in Guangxi,fully understand the development status of higher education and industrial structure in Guangxi,and compare and analyze the development level of higher education in Guangdong Province,the other two provinces of "Yunnan-Guizhou-Guizhou" and the whole country through a series of indicators,with the intention of revealing the differences between regions.In order to objectively present the current situation of higher education development in Guangxi and analyze the development prospect of higher education in Guangxi.Finally,the study uses Moore value and gray correlation analysis,as well as Vector Autoregression model and other empirical research methods to analyze the time lag and interaction between the structure of higher education disciplines and the upgrading of regional industrial structure.The part of Chapter 5,which studies the interaction between the two,draws on previous studies to classify different disciplines of higher education into three major categories,i.e.,natural sciences,humanities and social sciences,quantifies industrial structure upgrading as industrial structure advanced and industrial structure rationalization,and then uses Vector Autoregression models,impulse response analysis and variance decomposition and the The interaction between disciplinary structure and industrial structure upgrading is explored.The research draws the following three conclusions: firstly,the discipline structure of higher education in Guangxi lags behind the industrial structure,and the time span of the lag is about 3 years;secondly,when the industrial structure in Guangxi is upgraded,the demand for advanced talents in humanities including philosophy,literature and history will appear in a short time;thirdly,the growth of the scale of graduates in natural sciences in Guangxi has an obvious effect on the advanced industrial structure promoting effect,but no obvious influence on the rationalization of industrial structure,which indicates that there is a mismatch between the supply of natural science talents in Guangxi and the development demand for the rationalization of industrial structure.Finally,based on the results of the empirical analysis,the problems between the current higher education structure and industrial structure are analyzed in depth,and the optimization path and adjustment plan are proposed in order to suggest and advise the optimization and adjustment of the higher education discipline structure in the region in the future,and to better promote the regional higher education to serve the high-quality development of local economy.
