Natural disasters is a kind of extremely destructive factor for human. It is a significant factor for the sustainable development of economy, society and environment. However, a large number of examples have proved that the natural disasters can be prevent and reduced by some certain ways. Disasters' education is one of the most effective and convenient way. It allows people to get more necessary knowledge, skills, and ideas of the disasters' prevention. In China, citizens don't focus on improving disasters' awareness, correctly treating and knowing disasters. They also don't know how to take measures to prevent and reduce disasters, let alone, they can take correct actions to help people tide over nature disasters. The purpose of this paper is to research the present status of the disasters' education of high schools in Zhouqu,finding existing problems and formulating corresponding countermeasures. Then, it can promote the implementation of the disasters' education of high schools in Zhouqu.In this paper, the author studied and summarized on some related research both home and abroad through reading a lot of literature. Next, the author combined with the questionnaire about the existing disasters' education present situation. And on the basis of the research need, the author wrote the test and the interview outline on Zhouqu disasters' education of high schools. The author took 300 high schools students in Zhouqu as her objects of questionnaire and 10 teachers as her interviewees.The study found that:(1) The content of the disasters' education in high school geography teaching is inadequate, but the most of the students have demand to learn disasters' education;(2) For students, their awareness of disasters' prevention is strong but the knowledge of disasters is short, the skills of prevention disasters are poor and the students' recognition is not much high to the school disasters' education;(3)Different groups of students have different disasters' education. It usually reflects in the differences of gender, ethnic, household registration, grade, arts or science, and the times of activities of practicing preventing disasters, etc;(4) The ways of schools to carry out the disasters' education are single and the effect is not good;(5) Schools just focus on form but content about the disasters' education;(6) Teachers ignore thedisasters' education and their disasters' accomplishment are poor.Based on the above analysis and conclusion, the author considers that if people want to effectively develop and promote the disasters' education, they should carry out from the following aspects: Cultivating the students' awareness about disasters;Enhancing knowledge of students and skills of disasters; Improving geography teachers' awareness and ability of disasters' education; Strengthening the evaluated ways of disasters' education.
