| There was a large number of so called “floating workers” in China, which referred to people originally born and lived in under-developed area, and made a living in urban city by selling labor. These people usually take on low-end occupations and get paid below average.Children of these “floating workers”,also known as “floating children”,were the target of this research;they were widely believed to have suffered more setbacks than urban kids while they tried to adapt to society. We created a fine designed scale to evaluate the adaptation of these floating children, and did a research in the factors which may have influence on the adaptation process. The outcome was that the variance in the social adaptation level can be well explained by four factors: family, school members,neighborhood,self-motivation and peer group. As for the influence from family, school members, neighborhood and self-motivation,I used Structural Equation Model,(SEM)to simulate the effect. As for the influences from peer group,I used Hierarchical Linear Model,(HLM)to analyze the effects from different factors levels. |
