Social Work In The Study Of Social Adaptation Of The ’Old Floating People’

The movement and migration of the population is one of the important manifestations of modern social mobility.In the current wave of urbanization in China,the flow of population has gradually changed from individual labor mobility to family migration.As the elderly have inevitably flowed,their scale has also become increasingly large.This formed a special group of ‘Old Floating People’.The ‘Old Floating People’ not only face the problems brought by the decline of the physical function after the old age,but also face the discomfort brought by the new environment,which will lead to various new problems.Studies have shown that fot the most of the ‘Old Floating People’,their economic needs can be basically met,but their spiritual life is relatively monotonous.They rarely participate in community activities and have low recognition of urban communities.At the same time,under the constraints of the urban-rural dual system,the ‘Old Floating People’ cannot enjoy the social security treatment like the urban elderly,which makes it impossible to fully ‘embed’,neither psychologically nor ideologically.At present,China’s research on urban adaptation of the elderly is not yet mature,and the concern for the ‘Old Floating People’ is relatively lacking.This study attempts to focus on the ‘Old Floating People’,a nascent group that has not been included in the academic hotspots.Based on the literature research,casework method is used first to analyze and establish objectives.Then the professional method of narrative theraphy is used to implement the case intervention of the ‘Old Floating People’,analyze the dilemma in adapting to urban life.Finally,propose corresponding methods and strategies for individual dilemmas,coping strategies to improve the social adaptability of the ‘Old Floating People’.The practice of this study proves that the narrative theraphy method has a significant effect on the adaptation problem of the ‘Old Floating People’.It can achieve the set goal within a limited time: improve the selfidentity and gradually realize self-worth;accept and integrate urban culture,actively expand the life circle;promote internal communication within the family,gain emotional comfort;increase the willingness to social interaction by learning and applying Internet products.
