Since the reform and opening up,China's urbanization has achieved remarkable results. The urban population has increased, the number of cities has increased significantly, and the urbanization rate has increased from 17.9% in 1978 to 57.35% in 2016.This development has been regarded by the international community as one of the miracles of China's development. With the acceleration of the urbanization trend, ethnic minorities in the border areas have also followed the mainstream into the city to work and live, making indelible achievements for urban development. In Hohhot,a beautiful city in northern Xinjiang, farmers and herdsmen who work in cities and counties in the eastern and western regions of Inner Mongolia for their livelihoods or accompanying students are also increasing, contributing to the development of the capital. In the current process of urbanization development in China,we have encountered many problems. For example, social adaptation problems and contradictions, such as the problems of migrant workers, farmers, herdsmen, work problems, and children's schooling, have gradually emerged. To enable them to quickly adapt to the new environment,we must provide support and assistance from a social perspective and a policy perspective. On the macro level,we must clarify the correct and direction of urbanization development goals, and emphasize "such a very critical intersection." "The correct direction is new urbanization." In real life,we must protect the basic rights and interests of migrant workers, eliminate the intergenerational poverty transmission, guarantee the compulsory education of migrant children, and enhance their cultural level and quality so as to integrate into urban life more quickly.Special attention should be paid to the vocational training and quality improvement of migrant workers, and to provide high-quality “demographic dividends” for the development of urbanization. To solve these problems, social workers conducted case-involved work through the investigation of Mongolian schools in Hohhot and the support of all parties,in order to solve the social adaptation problems of the children of migrant workers, farmers, and herdsmen. In the form of work and group work, under the guidance of professional theories and methods, work was carried out.In view of the social adaptation of the children of migrant workers and peasants in the city, the author compares the domestic and foreign literatures and the comparison between ethnic regions to clarify the existing problems and analyze the causes. In the process of intervention, the observations and interviews are mainly used.One-on-one service and follow-up of the case, and communication with the social network of the parents, grandparents, teachers, classmates and friends of the case, and after the service target was jointly established with the case,a corresponding service plan was launched.Using the family life cycle theory, the advantage perspective theory, the social mobility theory and the social support theory, the case was assisted by three latitudes such as psychological adjustment, capacity building and social support. After several interventions, the client basically achieved the expected goal, and after the evaluation was completed, the case was closed and continued to follow up.Finally, based on the actual situation of field investigations, interviews and interventions, the author puts forward some suggestions and some references for the social adaptation of the children of migrant workers, farmers and herdsmen.
