The biggest difference between humans and animals is that we can use language to communicate and communicate.It can be said that speech is the natural state of our life.In modern society,the role of spoken language in life has become increasingly important.Oral English teaching has also received more and more attention.In the period of the Republic of China,vernacular Chinese was gradually replacing classical Chinese and attained a dominant position.However,the development of the spoken language curriculum has not been easy.It has experienced a long period of development,and it has set off an upsurge in spoken language teaching and then slowly declines.There are many merits in the compilation of spoken language teaching materials in the Republic of China.The teaching methods also have certain characteristics.Therefore,the author thinks that it is necessary to trace the source and objectively describe the meaning of teaching materials and teaching in spoken Chinese in the Republic of China,and excavate useful values in order to be able to give some enlightenment to the current oral teaching.This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter is the origin of the selected topic and the original research summary.The second chapter is to sort out the development course of the export language teaching according to the order of time.The author divided the teaching of spoken language into four development periods: initial period(1902-1968),development period(1919-1928),high tide period(1929-1936),and low valley period(1937-1946).The setting of curriculum standards and the development of spoken language teaching are divided.The third chapter mainly summarizes the characteristics of the spoken language teaching materials of the Republic of China.The author selects "Reviving Speaking and Teaching" as an example.First,it introduces the basic situation of the "Revival Speaking Textbook",and then specifically discusses the selected texts in the textbooks,including the sources and theme of the texts.Features such as content.The fourth chapter is a specific analysis of a variety of teaching methods,including evolutionary language,stories,daily conversations,speeches,and debates.It summarizes the characteristics of teaching methods in the Republic of China.The fifth chapter is the discussion of the teaching materials and teaching methods in the Republic of China.It aims to objectively discuss the value of the oral teaching materials and teaching methods in the Republic of China,as well as the enlightenment to the current oral teaching.
