Meal nutrition is the key to growth and development of young children and good diet nutrition is the basis to ensure the healthy growth of children.This study aimed at investigating the present situation of dietary supply of public kindergartens in Anshan urban areas. Calories and nutrients of public kindergartens' meals were analyzed to assess whether they met the Chinese dietary recommended nutrients intakes standard for preschoolers to improve children's diets and constitution.This study stratified random sampling at 9 out of the 28 public kindergartens(provincial model kindergarten, municipal model kindergarten and ordinary kindergartens) in urban areas of Anshan. Researcher measured the actual contents of these kindergarten's breakfasts, lunches,snacks, and dinners,by the principal of the 9 kindergartens with the consent of the study plan. The content of the calories and nutrients of kindergartens' meals were analyzed by the intelligent nutrition analysis system.The result showed that the 9 public kindergartens in the urban areas of Anshan provided an average of 997.07 kcal per day. The average allowance of protein was 49.24 g.The calories from the average allowance of the fat and carbohydrate, accounted 22 percent and 60 percent of the total calories,respectively.The average allowance of vitamin PP, iron, zinc and selenium, vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin E was higher than the reference intake,while calcium, vitamin B1 and vitamin B2 were insufficient.As for food groups denoted by the Chinese Society of Nutrition, Fish and cooking oil all reached the daily recommendations.Meat and beans were over the daily recommendations, while cereals, vegetables, eggs, fruits and milk were lower than daily recommendations.So, we can make a conclusion.Total calories of daily diet of these kindergartens in urban areas of Anshan are insufficient.On the quantity of nutrients allowance, the average allowance of iron, zinc and selenium, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin PP and vitamin E is higher than the Chinese dietary reference intakes,while calcium, vitamin B1 and vitamin B2 are insufficient.In order to let the related personnel of the dietary supply know the importance of the nutritional quality of meals, and to lay a good foundation of the healthy growth of young children, the researcher interviews with the principals and health-care physicians, based on these findings,and analyzed the current level and the reason of Anshan public kindergarten meals,and put forward the corresponding suggestions.
