Study On The Cultivation Of Professional Abilities Of College Counselors

In recent years, to promote the improvement of the quality of college counselors, and professional construction of this team, both administrative departments of education at all levels from the central government to the loca l authorities and universities have been, until all colleges and are in continuous practice and exploration. The CPC Central Committee and State Council have issued "Opinions of Further Strengthening and Improving of Ideological and Political Education of College Students "(Central Document [2004] 16th) issued, which provided powerful policy support and system guarantee for the construction of college counselors. Since then, the construction of college counselors has been achieved greatly. In this process, the professionalism of college counselors has become the increasing hot topic and focus of research among administrative departments of education at all levels, institutions and universities, and has been explored further and beneficially. In 2014, the Ministry of education issued <<Standards of Professional Abilities of College Counselors(Provisional) >>(Document of Department of Moral Education of the Ministry of Education [2014] 2nd, short for<<Standards>>), which designed the top-level unified specifications for the construction of professional abilities of college counselors and provided the powerful safeguard for the professional development of college counselors. Therefore, the cultivation of professional abilities of college counselors rise to the key issue of professional development of college counselors.Based on the above background, combining with domestic research, this paper investigated the cultivation of professional abilities of college counselors of some universities in Jilin province from the four aspects. First, this paper expounded the occupation orientation of counselors, the main contents and characteristics of professional abilities from the concept of professional abilities of college counselors. Second, This paper analyzed new changes, new situations occurred in every field of the country and society and based on which, new connotations of the professional abilities of college counselors in the level of spirit, ideal and politics after the 18 th National Congress of CPC, and put forward the idea that new elements like charisma of the era, political discernment and consciously performative force and the like should be added to professional abilities of college counselors to adapt to the rapid development. Third, this paper analyzed problems of counselors professional abilities from their responsibilities mainly existing in the fields of spirit of the times, the political literacy, professional identity, knowledge reserves, education management, psychological quality, emergency disposal, and their individual research, innovation, learning, and the rest and dissected the constraints of improvement of professional abilities of college counselors, including the impact of further development of market economy and rapid transformation of the society on thoughts, ideas, behaviors of college counselors, the insufficiency of the construction of soft and hardware environment to ensure college counselors' growth, and their individual restriction and so on. The fourth, this paper put forward strategies to strengthen cultivation of professional abilities of college counselors.First of all, solve problems in the spiritual level of college counselors and strengthen the cultivation of spirit of the times, humanistic spirit, spirit of the law; Secondly, strengthen the training of their basic skills, and focus on strengthening their abilities of education management, research and investigation, psychological education, and handling; Furthermore, develop counselors' abilities of political discernment, innovation, learning and research actively in order to adapt their occupation development; Finally, put forward the guarantee mechanism of cultivating professional abilities of college counselors, establish and perfect working mechanisms of selection, evaluation, training, promotion, and incentive to provide a reliable path for occupation development of college counselors.
