With the continuous advance of urbanization, China has become one of the fastest development countries in the world. However, Chinese urbanization construction has already made an achievement, it is also facing some important issues, such as “urban disease”, “rural disease” and so on. In addition, the problems, which include that a large number of farmer labor migration and the shortage on the rural practical talents, obstruct the urbanization process and the urban-rural integration development. Agricultural modernization is not only the foundation but the driving force to the development of urbanization. New professional farmers are the main force of modern agriculture, and it is also an important strength to these urbanization construction. Cultivation of new professional farmers is one of the countermeasures to solve the current problems, meanwhile, it will stimulate the urban-rural integration development and promote the social harmony.Based on the Chinese urbanization construction process, this paper adopts the urbanization theory, human capital theory and adult education theory, and it also uses the literature research method, case study method, interview method, comparative study method and other research methods to analyze the necessity, status and influence factors of this cultivation project during the urbanization process. At the same time, by learning the successful experience from the foreign countries to put forward some effective strategies to promote the cultivation of new professional farmers and the construction of urbanization.This paper's structure and contents as following: The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the thesis' origin, purpose and significance, literature review, research design, research focus, difficulties and innovation points. The second chapter is the definition of related concepts and the interpretation of theoretical basis. The third chapter discusses the necessity of the cultivation of new professional farmers in the profess of urbanization. In the forth chapter, the interview data was deeply processed, this thesis chooses Xinxiang City as an example, which is a typical of small and medium-sized city. Through this research, we could better understand the real situation of the cultivation of new professional farmers in the process of urbanization, and analyzes the problems. The fifth chapter analyzes the influencing factors at the different stages of the cultivation of new professional farmers, such as the training plan, the process of implementation and the maintaining of the effect. The sixth chapter draws lessons from the successful experience of the developed countries to cultivate professional farmers. In the seventh chapter, based on the analysis mentioned above, in terms of the government, educational institutions, farmers and other social environment, and combined with the age requirement, the author will put forward some specific strategies to form a concerted effort to promote the cultivation of new professional farmers.
