With the rapid of elder population increase in our country,more and more old people problem and needs was emerging. The elders who will have some unavoidable life adaptation issues in physical,psychology and social supporting, because of physical deterioration and social roles weakening. As a part of the elderly, The rural elderly who lost spouse and lived alone with whose spouse passed away and lived alone, has more special demands of life. Solving the life adaptation problem after the death of spouses is the prerequisite of improving the life quality of the elderly. This paper involved in one specific case by Case work intervening and used the Task-center Model, trying to solve the life adaptation issue in this case.In this study, we use Unstructured interviews,Observation method and scales to collect the client's files,and qualitative analysis of theses files. using Social Work professional knowledge and skills to make the client's needs assessments and service plan, and then provide service,at last make service assessment in general.Defines the core problem of the life adaptation for the breakage of the social support network,and operated it into the family,neighborhood relations and social actives involved in three latitude. In the process of service, we performed Social support theory, use Task-center Model operation method as a guideline, help client from the family,neighborhood relations and social actives theses three latitude to change their cognitive,action change and consolidated to construct her social support network,then let her adapt to solitary life gradually.This study has showed, Casework and the needs of the elder who lost spouse and lived alone correspond to each other with a high degree.Task-center model can quickly build social support network for the elderly, and help them adapt to life. But casework also has constraints, Task-centered model is not able to fully solve the patient's problem,so solving the life adaptation issues of the widowed elderly in rural areas requireconcerted efforts from more sectors.
