The Impact Of Social Support On The Sense Of Meaning Of The Life Of The Loser

The meaning of life refers to the experience that people gain in their life events,it enables individuals to perceive the value and direction of life,and it as a target to guide individuals finds senses of presence and value.For the lost only,the loss of the only child let them lose the hope and the goal to life,and they maybe desperate.Their original life meaningfulness is collapsed,the construction of life meaningfulness has an very important influence on their physical and mental development and their social adaptation ability in the future.A large number of studies show that social support and life meaningfulness are closely linked in any cultural environment.As the environment variables of life meaningfulness,good social support can provide protection for individuals in the stress state and it is of great significance to maintain a good mood.Through discussion of the relationship between social support and life meaningfulness,this study comprehensively and fully analyzes that social support helps the parents out of dilemmas,provides support and assistance for the special group,constructs the meaning of life and enables them to better survive and develop.In this study,318 parents in Shanghai received the questionnaire survey and the following conclusions are made after sorting out and analyzing all collected data.(1)The social support to the most of them are from informal support,and the support is mainly the emotional support;(2)there are significant differences in the social support,the age,dead years,the condition of employment and health;(3)The life meaningfulness of most of them are at medium-size level.Although their emotions fluctuate dramatically,their life burden is heavy,physical condition is band,they have the will to pursue the life meaningfulness,have the responsible attitudes toward to life,recognize their life value,value,life meaningfulness and still can live bravely.(4)The four variables,such as life meaningfulness,gender,physical condition of the lost only,dead years and reason of the child have significant difference.The losing life meaningfulness for men is greater than the one of women,the one with best physical condition has the strongest life meaningfulness,and vise versa;The ones whose only children had died for 30 or 40 years possesses the strongest life meaningfulness and the ones whose the only kids died within 10 years had the weakest life meaningfulness;For the those whose only child killed in illness had the strongest sense of life meaningfulness and the ones whose the only kids died in traffic and accidental accidents felt the weaker life meaningfulness.(5)The content and subject of life meaningfulness and social support of the lost only are positively correlated.(6)social support is the prediction variables of life meaningfulness,the formal and the informal support and emotional support in social support are the most important factors,and these play a very important influence to the experience degree of life meaningfulness.
