The Exploration Of Preventing Child Sex Abuse By Group Work

In recent years, Child sexual abuse has drawn much attention from the public. Such incidents have caused indelible consequences after been reported, which includes heavy blow to the child victims and their families. Frequent occurrence of such incidents should not only blame for the trespassers, but also give rise to reflection of the society, schools and parents. In instant educational conditions, although several schools have treat child sex enlightenment as one of the courses of school safety education, most schools still lack of such course. As for family education in China, “sex” is a kind of knowledge that can not be publicly discussed, especially between the elder and son generation. Therefore, sex education by parents is deficient, and it is even more difficult to help children prevent sex abuse. Under such circumstance, children are so wanting in knowledge about sex education, additionally their physical and mental development is so immature that they can not easily tell the outlaws and make good escape.In order to assure children sex safety and prevent sex abuse, it is necessary to add appropriate sex education into child safety education. What's more, child sex education need include both consistent sex knowledge and protection measures to improve their ability to distinguish dangerous conditions and persons. In this paper, the author tries to fill the gap in child sex education of school and parents by means of professional theory and method of social work, and pass on physiological knowledge to the group members and make them aware of common sense and ways to prevent sex abuse by use of group-working method according to developing characteristics of children in different stages to improve self-protect awareness of children during the process of interpersonal communication and achieve the aim of deducing the risk of been abused by make children have the ability of distinguishing danger. The emphasis of study in this paper are put on how to make effect in preventing child sex abuse through appropriate design of group activities. Moreover, this paper also discusses the functions and shortcomings of social work in preventing child sex abuse and promoting child sex education.The innovative point of this paper is to combine social work theories and practice, systematically apply group work in practice of preventing child sex abuse, and try to search for an educational and teaching model which can be used for reference to prevent child sex abuse through reflection.
