In this paper, experiment method and so on the apply of group compet teach method in middle school track and field teaching research, through the experiment methey of experiment and comparative analysis draws the following conclusions: 1. Group competition teaching method is better than traditional teaching method to improve students' 50 meters hurdles and erect long jump skill scores and item scores. 2.Group competition teaching method can effect stimulate students' interesting, improve students' learns ability, make students really self values and guide students to correct achieve attribut. It can be said that the group competition teaching is superior to the traditional teaching method in improving the students' motivate. 3. Group competition teaching method in track and field teaching process uses a division within the group learning, students learn to communicate, to help each other, in order to clear the students' sense of responsibility and enhance the senses of responsibility; learning problems encount in learning the group can also help contribute together to solve communication and groups competition can also improve the student's consciousness of teams cooperat.
