In recent years, because influence of the tradition teaching mode, sports teaching method in our country only pay attention to the skills of teaching, teach in the form of a single, boring, ignore students' emotional experience, the learning interest of the students lower, not only affect the result of physicy education, and have a serious impact on the comprehensive development of the students. Therefore,the Education Committee in the relevant implementation advice to promote quality education in primary or secondary school to define, quality education is to improve the quality of the nation as the goal of education. Quality education affects the implementation of physical education curriculum, the reform of physical education is the requirement of the times, to cultivate the social needs of compounds talents.Tradition sports teach objectives, teaching methods, organizational forms, teaching content and so on have been unable to meet the needs of modern social talents.Therefore, PE teaching reform to improve students' learning ability, sports and health knowledge and skills to grow as the goal, to pay attention to the student body,promote universal development of students for the purpose, cultivating students' subject consciousness in the process of sports teaching, a variety of innovate teaching methods, enhance student interest in learning, to cultivate students' innovation ability and team spirit, through cooperat, compet, think, and compet ways to achieve the goal of physical education teaching. In this paper, experiment method and so on the apply of group compet teach method in middle school track and field teaching research, through the experiment methey of experiment and comparative analysis draws the following conclusions: 1. Group competition teaching method is better than traditional teaching method to improve students' 50 meters hurdles and erect long jump skill scores and item scores. 2.Group competition teaching method can effect stimulate students' interesting, improve students' learns ability, make students really self values and guide students to correct achieve attribut. It can be said that the group competition teaching is superior to the traditional teaching method in improving the students' motivate. 3. Group competition teaching method in track and field teaching process uses a division within the group learning, students learn to communicate, to help each other, in order to clear the students' sense of responsibility and enhance the senses of responsibility; learning problems encount in learning the group can also help contribute together to solve communication and groups competition can also improve the student's consciousness of teams cooperat.
