Information technology has developed drastically nowadays.Computers,web resources and translation software have been applied to translation teaching.The integration of information technology and translation teaching also has become an indispensable part of translation teaching and the translation teaching research.Researches on information technology aided translation teaching include computer-assisted translation teaching,multimedium-assisted translation teaching and cyber platform-assisted translation teaching,etc.Journal articles are the better form of seeking clues on researches,which may reflect the current research trends timely and clearly.To master the latest developing tendency of researches on information technology aided translation teaching,the best and essential method is to make distinct classifications and deep-going analyses on the journal articles about information technology aided translation teaching.The author made retrieval of information technology aided translation teaching on CNKI and consulted paper materials in the library of Shandong Normal University,and found that researches on journal articles of information technology aided translation teaching were quite limited.Some researches made simple interpretations on the content of journal articles merely;Full-scale and systematic researches on research topics,research contents and research methods of journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching were lacking;the in-depth analysis of the superficial phenomenon of translation teaching was insufficient.What's more,the available research analyses on journal articles of information technology aided translation teaching were ambiguous.The present study,therefore,aims to focus on and conduct a descriptive and statistical analysis of 122 sample journal articles(of which 85 core journal journal articles and 37 non-core journal journal articles)on information technology aided translation teaching issued from 1987 to 2014,selected from CAJD(China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database)with the reference of A Guide to the Core Chinese Journal issued by Peking University,and make analyses from the aspects of research topics,research methods in both statistical and textual way,in order to find out the research advantages and drawbacks of the sample journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching,generalize the features and research tendencies,and hopefully make predictions or suggestions for future information technology aided translation teaching.The research findings of the Journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching in the past 30 years could be concluded as follows:1)On research topics:Of all the research samples,38.52%journal articles aim at translation teaching modes under information technology conditions;31.15%are about the translation learning patterns under information technology conditions.However,only 13.11%of those journal articles are about translation teaching evaluation;10.66%journal articles are targeted to research translation teaching platforms.This shows that an unbalanced development has existed in the research of journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching domestically.2)On research methods:74.6%of the journal articles adopt the qualitative research method and speculative research method,which are common in the research of translation teaching mode and learning patterns of information technology aided translation teaching.Only 25.4%of the journal articles adopt the empirical method or quantitative analysis.This indicates that empirical or quantitative studies on information technology aided translation teaching at home are somewhat lacking;researches on teaching methods of information technology aided translation teaching need further studies and more innovative practices.3)On research tendency:The annual increase is observable in the quantity of journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching.Especially after the year of 2002,the quantity increase of journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching is drastic.However,the research objects,topics and methods of journal articles on information technology aided translation teaching need further and intensive studies.Besides,when analyzed by content,most translation teaching mode researches of those journal articles are based on conventional translation teaching mode,i.e.information technologies are taken as a tool merely.Few translation teaching modes under information technology circumstances combine teachers,students with instructional platforms,which has actually brought changes for both translation teaching&learning modes,translation evaluations and teacher-learner relationships.Finally,the author put forward suggestions on research methods,research objects etc.of information technology aided translation teaching in accordance with the research findings and information technology aided translation teaching modifications for future were proposed as well.
