Cases Study Of Multimedia Technology In Assisting Preschoolers' Ink And Washing Painting

As an approach to assisting teaching, multimedia-technology has been widely used in preschool with the great needs coming from urban-kindergartens' level improving and teaching requirements. Chinese ink and wash painting, as an important part of traditional culture, starts to be incorporated into kindergarten's teaching activities under the background of secondary curriculum reform in Shanghai. Under the circumstance, some people think multimedia does not suit that kind of teaching activities requiring more manipulating skills; however, we now see more multimedia has been used in assisting teaching, so this research focuses on the ways combining multimedia with Chinese ink and washing painting.By using different approaches as observation, questionnaire, literature review, individual case analysis and experimental summary method, we chose four typical teaching activities to analysis and (1) by analyzing three mature examples, Taxuexunmei, Xiaoqingwa, Zitengjiaxia, we found the general application pattern when using multimedia in painting teaching, and made different suggestions based on the development characteristics of different ages, using more interactive pictures with K-1, more breaking structure charts for K-2, and more pictographic contrast figures; (2) by contrasting two different styles of activity, Changjinglluwangguo, we found more about principles about paintings when using multimedia assistance, the process dynamics principle, subjectivity principle, gradualness with pictures principle, creativity first principle, and simplicity principle. Eventually, we wish more teachers could use multimedia in painting instruction.
