School belonging refers to a sense of willingness to take responsibilities and obligations as a member of school as well as a sense of recognition and engagement of school in thoughts, feelings and psychology. School is an important place for the growth of high school students, so a good sense of school belonging can help them fully involved in school life, decisive significance to the healthy growth of middle school students. As a special group in middle school, Non-registered students are usually more difficult in involving themselves in school life.Many studies about school belonging have been conducted over normal students, transient students and mobile students groups, but there are no comparative studies on Non-registered students and normal students.Therefore, this study selected school belonging, self-esteem and learning adaption as research subjects. It aims to explore the current condition of school belonging, self-esteem and learning adaption of Non-registered students and normal students. And thus to give support and advice to enhance high school students'learning adaption.This study takes the students in a key middle school students in Xi'an as research subject,and uses school belonging Scale, SES, Learning Adjustment Scale to investigate 682 middle school students. Spss17.0,Amos17.0 are used to analyze the data, including variance analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, regression analysis and constructing structural equation model. Many conclusions have been drawn:(1) Overall condition of high school students' self-esteem, school belonging and learning adaption is good.(2) There are significant differences among middle and high students and only child or not in esteem level.(3) There are significant differences between gender and grade in school belonging.(4) There are significant differences between gender and grade in learning adaption.(5) The level of school belonging, self-esteem, learning adaption of Non-registered students are significantly lower than normal students.(6) In the Non-registered group, boys' school belonging is significantly lower than girls'; middle school students' learning adaption level is significantly higher than high school students; self-esteem of students who are the only child is significantly higher than those who are not.(7) School belonging, self-esteem, and learning adaption show correlation. Self-esteem and school belonging show a high positive correlation:High self-esteem students have high-school belonging. School belonging has a significant positive prediction effect on self-esteem. There is a high positive correlation between the students' school belonging and learning adaption. Students of higher school belonging is significantly higher than those of lower belonging in learning adaption. School belonging has a significant positive prediction effect on learning adaption.(8) School belonging can affect learning-adaption through self-esteem. Non-registered students' learning adaption is more influenced by school belonging, i.e. the mediating effect of Non-registered students on school belonging and learning adaption is smaller than normal students.This study can draw the conclusion that:there is a positive correlation in students' school belonging, self-esteem and learning adaption. More attention should be paid to Non-registered students' self-esteem, school belonging, learning adaption. To improve students' learning adaption, we can cultivate and improve students' self-esteem and school belonging. To improve the learning adaption of Non-registered students, we should develop their school belonging.
