Reading classical literature is an important step in broadening student horizons, to improve their reading skills, accumulate writing material and methods, to improve their discipline and is important in increasing their mental outlook. "Normal school language curriculum standards (experimental)" also clearly outlines the purpose of extracurricular reading, the quantity of reading and reading approaches. From the significance of reading in itself combined with the set curriculum standards, it reflects the importance of reading classic literary.The lack of student independent reading combine with a lack in teacher guidance has resulted in the current pessimistic state in high school student reading. The author of this paper is to target the status quo of student literature reading, by the use of a survey, comprehensively pinpoint the crux of the problem from examining student curiosity, inspirations, reading habits and surroundings, general difficulties and other aspects. Thus provide more in-depth analysis of current problems in high school literature reading and its problems, and to provide practical ideas in tackling the problem.
