Strategy On The Development Of Internationalization For Engineering Institute In Chinese Research Universities

With the constant expansion of modern university's functions in the knowledge economy times,internationalization of modern universities has become one of the most important ways for their survival and development.As the core of knowledge innovation,science and technology research and cultivation of high-quality talents,Chinese research universities are playing important roles in economic construction,social development,cultural prosperity,national security and so on.Engineering institutes are representative parts of Chinese research universities.They are in charge of fostering advanced technology talents who are engaged in the research and administration.This thesis mainly researches on the engineering institutes in Chinese research universities,elaborates some theories on the internationalization of Chinese higher education,and summarizes the common issues of them.The thesis discusses the internal and external conditions of these common issues on discipline construction,teaching staff construction,scientific research and student training by literature studies,case studies and comparative studies to come up with strategies for solving the problems,such as presenting the advanced concept and definite constructive ideas,deepening the personnel system reform,improving the system of personnel training,strengthening international cooperation in science and technology,expanding international student recruitment and so on.School of Chemical Engineering and Technology in Tianjin University(SCET,TJU)is a typical research engineering institute,the thesis also takes SCET's internationalization as example,in order to provide the reference to the other international development of engineering institutes and Chinese research universities.
