It was reported that the total number of people with disabilities in China had reached 82.96 million, accounting for 6.34% of the total population,of which 12.33 million were visually impaired, accounting for 14.86% of the total number of disabled persons. One of the main channels of employment for visually impaired persons is health care in the medical sector. The relationship between self-efficacy,learning motivation and academic achievement in visually impaired and normal students helps to understand the factors that affect the achievement of visually impaired students, thereby enhancing their vocational skills and promoting their employment. At present, the research at home and abroad mainly focuses on the relationship between the self-efficacy,learning motivation and academic achievement of students with visual impairment is rarely reported.ObjectiveTo evaluate the relationship between self-efficacy,learning motivation and academic achievement and influencing factors of students with visual impairment and normal in higher vocational colleges.MethodsTwenty four classes were selected from Henan Massage Vocational College,in which,10 classes were selected in 2014 grade,14 classes were selected in 2015 grade. In total,134 students with visual impairment in these 24 classes were selected.Equal to the number of students with normal eyesight in each class were selected by random sampling. All subjects were asked to complete the questionnaire.Statistical analyses were performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 and IBM SPSS Amos 21.0 software. For qualitative variables, frequencies were used to describe their characteristics. The ?2 test was used to compare the qualitative variables. The non-parametric test was used for the grade variables. For the quantitative variables,sx ± were used to describe their characteristics. The t test or multivariate variance analyses were used to compare the quantitative variables. The relationship between self-efficacy,learning motivation and academic achievement were analyzed by using simple linear correlation analysis, typical correlation analysis and path analysis.Results(1)For the overall population, the distributions of father's education(Z=3.216,P=3.216),mother's education(Z=3.784,P<0.001),family economic conditions(Z=4.745,P<0.001)were statistically different in both visually impaired and normal students.(2)There was no significant difference in self-efficacy,general self-efficacy,academic self-efficacy and self-regulation efficacy of the visually impaired students between different grades, sex, family residence and visual impairment(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in learning motivation scores, endogenous motivation and exogenous motility(P>0.05)between the different sex and visually impaired visually impaired students, and the. There were significant differences in the total score of learning motivation(P=0.008),the endogenous motives(P=0.007)and the exotic motives(P=0.049)between the different grades. There were significant differences in the score of exogenous motility(P=0.003)between different family residence(3)There was no significant difference in the total score of self-efficacy,general self-efficacy,academic self-efficacy and self-regulation of learning comprehension in univariate analysis(P>0.05)between visually impaired students and normal students. And endogenous motivation scores were statistically different between two groups(P=0.030).In multivariate variance analysis, there was no statistically significant difference in self-efficacy between two groups(F=0.509,P=0.677).There was a significant difference in learning motivation between visually impaired students and normal students(F=4.555,P=0.011).(4)Simple linear correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between visual impairment and visual acuity in patients with visual impairment and normal students(visual acuity group: r=0.624,P<0.001;normal group: r=0.555,P<0.001).There was no correlation between self-efficacy and learning motivation and test scores(P> 0.05).The correlation analysis showed that the correlation between self-efficacy and learning motivation was r=0.653(P<0.001)in visual impairment group and r=0.625(P<0.001)in normal eyesight group.(5)Path analysis showed that self-efficacy had an impact on motivation. The standardization regression coefficient was 0.637(P<0.001)in visual impairment students and 0.544(P<0.001)in vision normal students. The self-efficacy,motivation may not impact on average exam grades(P>0.05).ConclusionThere was a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and learning motivation, and the correlation in visual impaired students was greater than that of normal students.Self-efficacy and learning motivation had no impact on the average exam scores in both visually impaired students and normal students.
