A Study On The Application Of CBI In Senior High School English Reading Teaching

That the reading teaching briefly adopts the traditional Grammar-translation method in the current reading teaching has a bad effect,whose result makes students lose the interest.On this condition,the CBI regards the content teaching theory as the instructor is beneficial to improve such situation,which the teaching based on students' lives as well as stimulates their interests.Therefore,the author tries to apply the CBI to the reading teaching of senior high school,which to be proved that this method is favor of enhancing students' reading abilities.The author mainly employs the CBI in two classes of the senior 3 students in Hebei province as the experimental subjects which lasts three months.And it briefly studies in terms of three questions: 1.what are the effects of CBI on students' ability of summarizing main idea?2.what are the effects of CBI on students' ability of grasping details and facts?3.what are the effects of CBI on students' ability of inferring and judging? Next,the thesis adopts the research methods of pre-test and post-test.Then,the author will use the SPSS 19.0 to analyze the results of experiment.The application of CBI in experiment plays a positive role in students and makes their reading ability improve a new level than the traditional teaching method.Also,the study of English reading teaching method which applies CBI expects to make a new breakthrough: to arouse the teachers' attachment to CBI and to integrate the content that closes to or is familiar withthe lives of studentsin the process of reading teaching,which makes the CBI play a supplementary and effective role in the current situation that is habit of adopting the traditional teaching method.The purpose of the thesis is to provide some suggestions for researchers who will apply the CBI in the future,which aims at getting a new progress in the English reading teaching.
