A Study On The Talent Training Mode Of Selective Liberal Arts Colleges In The United States

Selective liberal arts colleges have been regarded as a "model of undergraduate education" in the United States,and have gained universal recognition for high quality undergraduate teaching,which also played a vital role in the cultivation of elite talents.The undergraduate education in our country has been widely concerned,which led us to reflect on the undergraduate education quality and personnel training mode.The distinctive talents training experiment of liberal arts colleges has provided a wealth of experience and inspiration for China's reform of colleges and universities,and set an example for the higher education in our country.Firstly,in this paper,it makes a systematic study on the elements of the personnel training mode in liberal arts colleges,analyzes the characteristics and problems exist,and sums up the successful experience of the talent training mode in liberal arts colleges.Finally,enlightenments that are beneficial to the development of undergraduate education in China are drawn.This part mainly elaborates the problems,the significance of research,the definition of core concepts,the literature review and the related research methods.Secondly,the historical development and current situation research of liberal arts colleges in the United States.Through the analysis on the historical literature,the historical development of the American liberal arts colleges is divided into four periods,namely,the emergence,popularization,repositioning and development as well as the challenges.In the following,development of the four periods is elaborated.Thirdly,research on talent training mode of American liberal arts colleges.The comparative research method and literature research method are adopted to elaborate the talent training mode of liberal arts colleges from four aspects: the training goal,professional setting,curriculum system and training ways.Then,characteristic and influence factor studying of American liberal arts colleges.This part mainly elaborates the main features and achievements of the liberal arts colleges.Firstly,the experience and enlightenment of talent training mode of American liberal arts colleges on the undergraduate education in our country.By summing up the successful experience of talents training mode of American liberal arts colleges,suggestions and enlightenment that are favorable to our undergraduate education are drawn in this paper.
